Students are introduced to creative problem-solving through hands-on, practical challenges. They learn how to think critically, generate ideas, and approach real-world problems with confidence. This package builds the foundation for innovative thinking and encourages curiosity, collaboration, and a growth mindset.

Students apply their skills to make a meaningful impact in their communities. They identify real social issues and design solutions that create positive change, combining innovation with purpose. This package empowers students to think beyond profit and develop leadership skills grounded in empathy, responsibility, and real-world impact.

Over the past five years, Bloom has partnered with Perth Modern School to deliver immersive leadership and entrepreneurship programs that build real-world skills beyond the classroom. Through workshops, challenges, and mentorship, students develop confidence in communication, leadership, and problem-solving. Bloom partnered with to co-design a Design for Good program aligned with Catholic Education WA’s Capabilities for Learning. Through a real-world innovation challenge, students explored social entrepreneurship and applied it to community issues.
The results were clear: students reported a rise of understanding of social entrepreneurship by (+1.33), along with broader entrepreneurship (+0.77), and key skills like reflection and perseverance improved. The program built confidence, sparked curiosity, and showed the impact of real-world learning in a Catholic education context.

Co-designed and delivered Illuminate8  that immersed students in real-world social innovation. Working in teams, students identified community challenges, developed solutions, and pitched their ideas with confidence. The impact was clear: understanding of social entrepreneurship increased by +1.33 points, entrepreneurship by +0.77, and confidence to reflect and persevere rose by +0.76 and +0.66 respectively. Students left not just with ideas, but with the mindset and skills to act on them, demonstrating how entrepreneurship can be a powerful tool for meaningful change.

Ministers Innovation Challenge
Over multiple years, Bloom has delivered the Minister’s Innovation Challenge in partnership with the WA Department of Education, reaching 40+ public schools across the state each year and engaging Year 8 students in hands-on entrepreneurial learning.Through a structured six-week program, students apply design thinking to real local issues, building skills in problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. Supported by teachers and industry mentors, participants gain early exposure to innovation pathways and future careers.As part of the Career Learning Toolkit, the Challenge plays a key role in preparing young people to think critically, act proactively, and contribute meaningfully in a rapidly changing world.

Innovation 101 GOSH 
Each year in schools across the Mid West, Peel, and South West regions, Bloom brings Innovation 101 activations; building momentum ahead of the Great Southern Hackathon.These sessions introduce students to the fundamentals of innovation and entrepreneurship, using practical activities to explore problem-solving, ideation, and teamwork. Designed to spark curiosity and confidence, Innovation 101 equips students with the mindset and tools to step into the Hackathon ready to contribute, collaborate, and create solutions that matter in their local communities.
